Founded in 2006 by Allen Stephenson in Greenville, South Carolina, Southern Tide swiftly gained recognition for its distinctive polo shirts. Inspired during Stephenson’s college years in Italy, the brand emerged after he presented the concept in a speech class. The Southern Tide Skipjack Polo became the embodiment of his vision. Under the ownership of Atlanta-based Oxford Industries, Southern Tide’s remarkable growth earned accolades, securing spots on Forbes’ “Americas Most Promising Companies” and Inc. 500’s list of “The Fastest Growing American Companies,” solidifying its status as a top-ranking apparel company in the industry.
